Sensex opens higher by 74 pts

Mumbai, : The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday opened higher by 74 points to 37,632.36 on fresh buying in stocks like energy, industrial, telecom, metal and bankex.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 14.45 points to 11,316.25.
The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 37,721.98 and 37,479.62 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra-day high and low at 11,342.75 and 11,272.25 points respectively.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 1.87 pc to Rs 321.60, ICICI Bank by 1.63 pc to Rs 387.65, Reliance Industries by 1.24 pc to Rs 1270.70, Tata Motors by 1.24 pc to Rs 188.10 and Axis Bank by 1.85
pc to Rs 737.65.
The losers were HCL Technologies by 4.82 pc to Rs 1077.55, Asian Paints by 1.80 pc to Rs 1331.40, Bajaj Finance by 1.78 pc to Rs 2917.10 and IndusInd Bank by 1.26 pc to Rs 1458.10.
