Grenade blast outside PS, petrol bomb hurled at another in Pulwama, no injury

Srinagar,: A grenade blast took place at a distance from a Polling Station (PS) while petrol bomb was hurled at another PS in Pulwama in south Kashmir, where voting was going on in the third and last phase of polling in Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency on Monday, official sources said.
They said militants fired a rifle grenade towards a police station at Rohama in Pulwama shortly after polling began. However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded about 200 meters away from the polling station with a loud sound which was heard in the entire village. Some people who were on streets rushed inside their homes immediately. Adequate number of Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) and state police personnel had been deployed in the area, including outside PC. No one was injured in the blast, they said.

Unidentified persons lobbed a petrol bomb towards a police station at Hergam, Bathnoor, Tral in Pulwama. However, it fell at a distance from PC without causing any damage.
Miscreants have set on fire two school buildings which were designated as polling booths in Shopian on Sunday.
Unprecedented security arrangements have been made for free, fair and peaceful polling in twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama in the Anantnag constituency following strike called by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).
