Washington, Apr 24 (UNI) Hours after accusing Twitter of ‘discriminatory’ behavior toward conservative users, US President Donald Trump met with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to discuss social media.
The meeting was confirmed by Trump, who tweeted a photo of the meeting on Tuesday, CNN reported.
‘Great meeting this afternoon at the White House with Jack from Twitter.
Lots of subjects discussed regarding their platform and the world of social media in general. Look forward to keeping an open dialogue”, Trump tweeted.
Trump was accompanied by Dan Scavino, the White House director of social media and a longtime Trump aide who frequently posts for him on Twitter. Dorsey was accompanied by Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s head of legal, policy, and trust & safety.
Earlier on Tuesday, Trump tweeted that Twitter is “very discriminatory” and does not “treat me well as a Republican.” The President said it was “hard for people to sign on” and accused the company of “constantly taking people off list.”
“No wonder Congress wants to get involved – and they should. Must be more, and fairer, companies to get out the WORD!”, Trump added in his tweet.
Twitter and other tech giants such as Facebook and Google have been high-profile targets of the president, who repeatedly has accused them of anti-conservative bias.
However, he’s called out Twitter in particular.
In November, Trump tweeted that the social platform was removing followers of his Twitter account.
