Kendrapara, Apr 23 : The wave for BJP across the country has become a challenge for the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said and called upon the people of Odisha to punish the ‘anti-farmer and anti-development’ BJD government.
Mr Modi, who landed here after casting his ballot at Ahmedabad to address the party’s Vijaya Sankalp Samavesh at Barua ground in this coastal Odisha town, said the time has come to punish the anti-development and anti-farmer Odisha government.
‘Your exit is almost certain as Odisha people, who are more wiser than the politicians, have already made up their mind to install the double engine government, both at the state and also at the Centre,’ he said.
Stating that the mood of people is for a change and it would be difficult for the survival of BJD government, Mr Modi remarked ‘a handful of officers cannot save this government’.
The Prime Minister said it is almost certain that BJP will replace the BJD government in Odisha. BJD cannot check BJP from coming to power, even if it applied all its strength and forces.
‘Earlier, people wanted to bid you (Mr Patnaik) farewell with love, but now with anger. You had worked for Odisha for so many years and I wanted that you should leave with dignity. But the way violence was committed during last 10-12 days and BJP workers were attacked and the officers closed their eyes to it.
‘I wanted to tell Naveen Babu you are going. Your existence is a must. The handful of officers with vested interests cannot save you.
‘Eiha lahar nehi larkar hei Phir ekbar Modi Sarkar hei (This is not a wave, but a challenge, Modi government will make a comeback),’ the Prime Minister said, adding that he had not seen so much of love and affection from Odisha during 2014 and hoped that the people of Odisha will play a major role in creation of a new government at the state.
Mr Modi slammed the Naveen Patnaik government for standing as a pillar between the people and the Ayushman Bharat scheme and the PM Kissan Yojana, depriving lakhs of people and the farmers, the benefit under these schemes.
Both the schemes will be fully implemented, once the BJP comes to power in the state.
Mr Modi claimed that not a single corruption charge was reported during the last five years, which has frustrated the Opposition, who are now on a falsehood campaign, out of desperation.
