Truck guts completely in mysterious fire

Qazigund, : A mysterious fire damaged a truck completely on Srinagar-Jammu highway at Qazigund area on Monday.

Reports said that a truck (JK05A 8795) caught fire near Panzath area during morning hours. Reports added that the driver and the conductor were on board when fire engulfed the truck. They managed to retrieve some cash and escaped unhurt, however, the truck damaged completely in the fire incident.

Locals and police tried hard to extinguish the fire, however, they failed to save the vehicle. “We have registered a case and investigation is taken up,” said a police official to CNS.

Former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti demanding investigation into the matter saying that it needs to be seen how and why trucks are being to carry cash for poll distribution.

“Alarming, authorities must conduct a thorough investigation to ascertain how & why trucks are being used to carry cash for poll distribution. That too a day right before Anantnag votes. This is a good lesson to those who think votes can be purchased by bribes,” Mehbooba tweeted. (CNS)
