Tens of thousands turn out to witness Rahul & Priyanka road show

Wayanad, Apr 4 : It was an overwhelming number of supporters who thronged the Kalpetta roads in Wayanad in Kerala, to greet the All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi and his sister and AICC General Secretary Priyanka Vadra who arrived in the town for filing nomination papers by Mr Gandhi for the April 23 Lok Sabha election.
Tens of thousands of Congress and Indian Muslim League supporters paraded for the road show by Mr Gandhi and Ms Vadra, soon after the filing of nomination.
AICC General Secretaries Mukul Wasnik, K C Venugopal, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President Mullapally Ramachandran, former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, IUML keader P K Kunhalikuttu and others accompanied the Gandhi’s in.the open jeep.
The road show for about two kilometres along the thickly packed road took about an hour. Later Mr Gandhi and Ms Priyanka boarded the helicopter at SKMJ school ground to return to Delhi.
