‘Crop sacrifice’:Jammu ryots ‘ harvest ‘premature’ wheat crop to vacate land for Modi’s rally

Jammu, Mar 25 : The farmers of Jammu have set a trend by giving return gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his bonnanza announced for the community as they harvested their “premature” wheat crop to vacate land for his scheduled March 28 rally here on city outskirts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Doomi Malpur village in Akhnoor Tehsil of Jammu on March 28 to kick start his election campaign from the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mr Modi earlier on February 3 visited the state and laid foundation of AIIMS at Vijaypur in Samba district and other developmental projects.
However, enthusiast with the Prime Minister’s visit, the farmers of Doomi Malpur are all set to greet him with open hearts claiming that if he can think about the farmer fraternity, why they cannot in return welcome him with this gesture.
“Our crop is yet to reap completely but no matters, our Prime Minister is coming to Doomi village, we can sacrifice this much of crop for him,” Mool Chand, a farmer busy cutting the crop said.
Another farmer Dhani Ram while terming Mr Modi as “Messiah” said, “he is our true “bhagwaan” and we are ready to bear some loss by harvesting our crops “prematurely” because a chunk of land where the venue was fixed for his rally was covered with wheat crop.”
The farmers harvested the crop on around 50 kanals of land surrounding the ground where Mr Modi is scheduled to address an election rally.
As per reports, the senior Congress leader and the former minister may also join BJP in presence of Prime Minister.
The farmers however, said Mr Modi as Prime Minister worked for poor, below poverty line people, farmers and introduced many pension schemes for their welfare and in return, they (farmers) can happily harvest small portion of  “premature” crop for the leader of masses.
