Srinagar, Feb 27, National Investigating Agency (NIA) Wednesday arrested three persons and conducted searches at six houses including the one belonging the active Jaish-e-Muhammad militant whose vehicle was allegedly used in Lethpora Fidayeen attack.
Reports said that NIA sleuths conducted raids in different parts of South Kashmir. Reports added that raids were simultaneously conducted at Pampora, Ratnipora, Awantipora and Srigufwara.
Reports said that NIA conducted 7 hour long search operation at the residence of Muslim Khawateen Markaz Chairperson Yasmeen Raja at her Pampore residence in her absence. During the raid NIA sleuths seized some documents, cell phones and laptops.
Locals from Ratnipora informed news agency CNS that NIA sleuths conducted the houses of Tariq Ahmed Magray, Waseem Ahmed Magray and Fayaz Ahmed Sofi. Locals said besides seizing some documents NIA whisked away the trio to unknown destination. They said the all the three are innocent with no police records.
NIA also raided the house of Siraj Manzoor Malik at Awantipora, an active Jaish militant. Sources said that during the three hour long search operation, no arrests were made; however, some documents were seized.
Sources further informed that NIA also raided the house of Sajad Ahmed at Sri Gufwara whose vehicle had allegedly been used in Lethpora attack. “NIA team conducted searches for a couple of hours and enquired about Sajad Ahmed. They didn’t arrest anyone,”
