New Delhi, Feb 18 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held talks with Argentinian President Mauricio Macri here.
Mr Macri arrived India on Sunday on a three-day visit at the invitation of Mr Modi.
Mr Macri’s visit comes at a time when India and Argentina are celebrating the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations.
“Welcoming a friend and an important partner in Latin America. PM Narendra Modi warmly receives President of Argentina Mauricio Macri ahead of delegation level talks. The leaders had last met on margins of G20 Summit in December 2018 in Buenos Aires,” MEA spokesman Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
After bilateral talks, both the leaders sat for delegation level talks. Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale was present at the meet.
President Macri is likely to visit Mumbai on Tuesday.
The visit closely follows on the heels of the highly successful visit of Prime Minister Modi to Argentina for the G20 from November 30 – December 1, 2018 and the very productive bilateral meeting that Prime Minister had with President Macri on that occasion, the MEA said.
