NIMS University suspends 4 Kashmiri girl for Whatsapp status

SRINAGAR, FEB 17 (PTK): Four Kashmiri girl students, studying in Rajasthan’s NIMS university, were taken into police custody on Saturday after they posted content celebrating and glorifying the Pulwama attack that killed 49 security personnel.
The four girls, who are students of a private University in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, have been also suspended from the University for posting an anti-national message on Whatsapp. They were later handed over to the police.
In a statement, NIMS University condemned and said the university will not tolerate such activities. The students were suspended from both the college and also the hostel.
The students have been identified as Talveen Manzoor (BSc OT, 2nd year), Iqra ( B Pharma, 2nd Year ), Zohra Nazir (BSc OT, 2nd Year ) and Uzma Nazir (BSc RIT, 2nd Year ).
They had expressed happiness on the Pulwama attack, saying that they had taken revenge. One of the students Talveen posted a Whatsapp status saying, “our reply to the outrage outside… #pulwamaattack” along with a picture.
When contact Authority of NIMS University they didn’t pick up calls of News agency Press Trust of Kashmir.
