Move employees in Jammu to boycott duties from Monday, cite insecurity

Jammu, Feb 17: Darbar move (non-secretariat) employees’ federation have decided to boycott their official duties from Monday (February 18) Fearing attacks on their families putting up at the government quarters in Jammu.
Owais Wani, State president of the association told Daily Asianmail on phone that their families won’t be safe if the male members will leave for their duties in offices.So we have decided to boycott our duties and safeguard our families here,” he said.
Wani also appealed the administration to make arrangements for the families of darbar move employees saying that due curfew we are facing dearth of essential commodities here in Jammu due to which we are not able to feed our families here.
Wani also appealed to the Jammu based employees to cooperate with them. “We appeal to our employees working in Kashmir and those who are on leave to join the protest programme of Joint Coordination committee on Monday at Srinagar Press enclave,”.
