⛔Will leave Jammu if our safety not ensured: Darbar move employees

The darbar move (non-secretariat) employees federation on Saturday threatened to return to Kashmir if the government didn’t take measures to ensure their safety in Jammu.

State president of the association, Owais Wani told Greater Kashmir that their families were not safe in Jammu as the quarters provided by estates department were facing attacks by miscreants in Jammu.

“We had already appealed to the district and divisional administration Jammu to provide fool proof security to quarters of Darbar employees but the administration is not dealing with the situation seriously,” Wani said.

He also claimed that the curfew imposed by district administration was confined to only papers as youth were roaming on bikes and attacking quarters of Kashmiri employees in Jammu.

“If government has imposed strict curfew then why these bikers are roaming freely here and attacking quarters. There is no curfew in volatile areas which has created fear among Kashmiri employees here,” Wani said.

He said Kashmiri employees will leave Jammu and return home in Kashmir if the government failed to ensure their safety.

“We will ask the employees to return to Kashmir if the government didn’t take any measures for our security,” he said.

When contacted, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar said the situation was completely “under control”. “I am on spot at Janipur. No (residential) quarter has been attacked,” Kumar said.
