One more militant killed in Rafiabad gunfight, toll reaches 5

Srinagar, Aug 09: The death toll in the ongoing gunfight in Dooniwari forests of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has mounted to five with the death of another militant on Thursday morning.

An official said that a militant was killed today morning in the firefight raging since yesterday morning in the dense forests of Dooniwari.

Director General of Police SP Vaid confirmed the death of fifth militant on Twitter. He said the fifth militant was killed after he fired this morning.

Four militants were killed while an army commando was injured in the firefight yesterday, said an army spokesman. He said the fighting started after a joint party of the police and the army launched searches in the area following a tip-off about the presence of militants. (PTK)
