Militants hurl grenade at security forces in south Kashmir

Srinagar: Militants lobbed a grenade at a security force checking point in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Wednesday evening.
Official sources told UNI that unidentified militants hurled a grenade at the joint checkpoint of state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in village Banora in Pulwama.
However, they said the grenade missed the target and exploded in the adjoining orchard.
“No one was injured in the attack,” they said, adding the militants managed to escape from the spot during the chaos caused by the blast.
Additional security forces were rushed from nearby camps and a search operation has been launched to nab the attackers.
