Covid-19 claims one more life, 91 test positive in J&K

Srinagar, Feb 12 : Jammu and Kashmir on Friday reported one more death related to Covid-19 taking toll of deaths in J&K to 1,948 while as 91 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported in the UT taking the tally of total positive cases to 125,208.

Of the exact number of 125,208 cases, 73,478 are from Kashmir and 51,730 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 91 new cases, 56 belong to Kashmir division while as 35 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 73,478 including 71,778 recoveries and 1,225 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 51,730 including 50,848 recoveries and 723 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 634 including 475 from Kashmir division and 159 from Jammu division.

With 84 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 122,626 which is 97.92 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 26 from Srinagar, 11 from Baramulla, 02 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 02 from Kupwara, 01 from Anantnag, 01 from Bandipora, 02 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 35 from Jammu division include 14 from Jammu, 03 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 01 from Doda, 00 from Kathua, 03 from Samba, 01 from Kishtwar, 11 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Notably, in last twenty four hours one person from Jammu division who was tested positive for Covid-19 has died.

As per officials figures, 26,465 positive cases including 459 deaths and 25,795 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,153 including 175 deaths and 7,947 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,814 including 7,656 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Budgam, 5,778 including 5,649 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,670 including 96 deaths and 5,569 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,949 including 4,819 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,702 cases including 4,621 and 62 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,657 including 4,557 recoveries and 47 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,707 including 2,636 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,583 including 2,529 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 25,065 including 24,617 recoveries and 372 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,235 including 4,146 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,872 including 3,813 recoveries and 55 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,436 including 3,366 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Doda, 3,256 including 3,203 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kathua, 2,835 including 2,786 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Samba, 2,733 including 2,710 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,518 including 2,471 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Poonch, 2,135 including 2,112 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,645 including 1,624 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 1,204,485 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 33,635 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 634 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,062,773 persons have completed surveillance period and 105,495 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 4,799,891 samples are available.

Out of 4,799,891 the number of samples tested negative stands at 4,674,683 while as 125,208 have tested positive, among them 634 persons are active, 122,626 persons have recovered and 1,948 persons have died
