LoC Flare Up: Soldier Killed In Sunderbani Sector Of Rajouri

Rajouri, Feb 04 : A soldier was killed as India and Pakistan armies exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district, officials said on Thursday.

“Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the line of control (LoC) in Sundarbani Sector, District Rajouri. Own troops responded strongly to the enemy fire. In the incident, Sep Laxman was critically injured and later succumbed to his injuries,” an army officer told GNS.

He said Laxman was a brave, highly motivated and a sincere soldier. The flare-ups along LoC have increased in the last several years. As per officials, there were 5133 incidents reported last year alone in which 46 people, including 24 soldiers and 22 civilians were killed in this part of J&K while the Pakistan army has claimed many soldiers and civilians were killed.
