Police refutes reports about death of woman in Pulwama encounter

Srinagar, Jan 30 (UNI) Refuting the reports that a woman had died due to heart attack during an encounter between militant and security forces in Pulwma, a police spokesman on Saturday warned of stern action against those found spreading fake and unverified news.

Meanwhile, authorities suspended mobile internet service in Pulwama as a precautionary measure since last night to prevent spread of rumours and fake news.

Reports were circulated on social media that a woman died due to heart attack near encounter site at Mandoora, Tral, in Pulwama. Three local militants of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were killed by the security forces in the encounter.

Police spokesman said some whatsApp groups have circulated fake news of heart attack of a lady near encounter site at Mandoora tral.

In this connection, he said, it is clarified that no such incident has taken place. Strict action shall be taken against the persons found in spreading fake/un verified news, he warned.
