Drug peddler arrested in Srinagar; charas and cash recovered

Srinagar, Jan 23 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a drug peddler and recovered charas and cash from his possession in Srinagar, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

He said a naka checking was established at Zindshah Rainawari, where patrolling was also intensified by police.During the checking a vehicle was intercepted, he said, adding that one Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh a resident of Andurani Kathidarwaza, at present Shungli Pora was arrested after 140 grams of charas like substance and Rs 13,300 were recovered from his possession.

He said in this regard Case FIR No. 03/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Rainawari against the accused.

Locals of the area have hailed the Police action and are expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in future also, he said.
