BJP win in DDC election victory of ballot over bullet: Vibodh

Srinagar, Dec 23 : Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday said win of party candidates in the District Development Council (DDC) elections was victory of ballot over bullet, development over destruction and peace over the politics of hate.
The BJP has performed remarkably well in Jammu region and lotus had bloomed in the valley, BJP general secretary and in-charge Kashmir affairs Vibodh Gupta said in a statement here this afternoon.
He said victory of the BJP in the DDC elections is the victory of the developmental policies of BJP and vibrant vision of PM Narendra Modi. “ It is the victory of the ballot over bullets, development over destruction and peace over the politics of hate”, he said.
The BJP, he said, has won 74 seats against the National Conference (NC) 67, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 27 and the Congress 26. He claimed that vote share was also in favour of the BJP.
He said that lotus attracted 4,87,364 votes which are even more than the votes polled by NC, PDP and Congress together. The message is loud and clear that the people have rejected the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD).
Mr Gupta said that this victory is the mandate given by the people of Jammu and Kashmir against the negative politics of “Gupkar Gang” and the historic blunders and injustices done by the previous NC, PDP and Congress governments with the people of J&K. The people have voted for democracy backing the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A and Prime Minister’s vision of Naya Kashmir.
The entire country burst into celebrations and danced on patriotic and nationalist tone after lotus bloomed in Dal Lake. He strongly asserted that BJP has established a strong base in the valley with over two and a half lakh membership and a commendable vote share in the DDC elections, he said.
Be it massive Shikara, Tiranga & Tanga Rally or maiden three victories in Kashmir the karyakartas of BJP have achieved various milestones vowing to take democracy to the grassroots level. There is a long way to go. We have already started working on strengthening the party organization based on the DDC election result in the valley, Mr Vibodh said.
