BSF foils infiltration attempt by heavily armed terrorists in Samba

Jammu, Sep 27 : The alert troops of BSF have successfully foiled an infiltration attempt by pushing back group of heavily armed terrorists along the international border in Samba sector of Jammu region.

BSF spokesman here said on Sunday said that on the intervening night of September 26-27, alert troops foiled another major infiltration bid from Pakistan side in Samba Sector. “Movement of a group of five terrorists was noticed in Pakistan side of International Boundary in Samba sector, by alert BSF troops,” said the spokesman.

He added that this is the second attempt of infiltration through the Samba sector by the terrorist group after September14-15 foiled attempt.

“During night hours taking an advantage of darkness, the terrorist group of heavily armed terrorists tried to enter into Indian territory but engaged by alert BSF troops, where they reached taking advantage of a thick growth of grass,” he said.

The spokesman said, “own troops challenged them to stop on which they started firing on BSF party with Pak Ranger posts also giving fire support to these terrorists.”

BSF troops fired on the infiltrating anti-national elements with coordinated effective fire, however, they managed to flee back to Pakistan territory, he said.

“With this, BSF foiled another possible infiltration bid of armed terrorists from across the border well supported by Pakistan Rangers,” he added.
