MP Guv replies to Speaker

Bhopal, Mar 18 : Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon – in his two-page reply to a communication from Assembly Speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati – has “appreciated” the latter’s concern vis-a-vis 22 ‘absent’ lawmakers of the ruling Congress.
Copies of the Hindi letter, dated Tuesday, were released to the press in the wee hours of Wednesday.
“I empathise with the pain you must be experiencing for the past eight to ten days though you have not mentioned the endeavours undertaken by you in tracing the representatives. As far as accepting the resignations of the said legislators is concerned; I praise your impartial, courageous and speedy acceptance of six members’ resignations. The ‘missing’ MLAs are writing to you and me! Their dispatches do not refer to their being in any quandary. Their videos are being made public in electronic and social media and have reached the Supreme Court. In the concluding paragraph of your dispatch, you have demanded security for legislators. However, the responsibility of protecting every citizen vests in the executive,” the gubernatorial response said.
The Speaker’s communication to the Governor was dispatched earlier Tuesday.
