RS adjourned till 1200 hrs amid opposition uproar

New Delhi:  Rajya Sabha was adjourned on Monday till 1200 hrs amid opposition uproar on the issue of political crisis in Karnataka, atrocities in Sonbhadra district and Human Right’s report.
Soon after the House assembled at 1100 hrs, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu informed about the sad demise of three-time Delhi chief minister and former Member of Parliament Sheila Dikshit.
The House observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed leader.
After the condolences, Mr Naidu said that he had received notices by CPI member Vinay Vishwam and other Opposition lawmakers on mob lynching, Karnataka issue and violation of Human Right issue which he did not accept.
On this, the Opposition Members including Congress, Samajwadi Party and All India Trinamool Congress got agitated and started sloganeering from their seats.
The Chairman tried to convince the members and said that Karnataka issue was pending before the Supreme Court.
“The Karnataka issue is pending before the Supreme Court and the notice given by the Member on Human Right report is of year 2018 so he cannot allow to discuss this in the House,” Mr Naidu asked.
However, the Chair’s advice fell on the deaf ears of the agitating members and as a result he adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.
