LS polls: BJP leads in 292 constituencies in counting trends, Security tightened outside party’s headquarters

New Delhi, :  Security was tightened outside the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in the national capital on Thursday as counting trends of Lok Sabha polls 2019 showed the National Democratic Alliance returning to power,
BJP’s national headquarters are located here on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg near ITO.
According to official website of Election Commission, in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 counting trends, BJP is leading on 292 seats out of 542 parliamentary constituencies.
Counting of votes for the 17th Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh began on Thursday morning at 0800 hrs amid a heightened security.
Out of the total 543, elections were held in 542 LS constituencies.
Election Commission of India monitored the proceedings at all the centres.
District Magistrates and all the officials concerned are poring over minute details of arrangements, including security measures, for the smooth conduct of the counting. In accordance with the instructions of the EC, five polling stations will be selected on a random basis for audit and verification of the VVPAT slips. The process of VVPAT verification may take four to five hours.
