Priyanka terms claims of Rahul being UK citizen as ridiculous

Amethi, :  AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday termed as ‘ridiculous’ the claims that Congress president Rahul Gandhi was a British citizen.
Talking to reporters here, Priyanka, reacting to Union Home Ministry’s notice to Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his citizenship issue following a complaint by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy, Mrs Priyanka Vadra said, “I have never heard of such a ridiculous claim. The whole country knows that Rahul is an Indian. He was born and raised here.’’
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sent a notice to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his citizenship issue following a complaint by Mr Swamy.
The MHA’s notice, sent by Foreigners Division of Home Ministry on Monday, has requested Mr Gandhi to “intimate factual position on the matter” within 15 days.

A 14-page notice has been served to the Gandhi scion on a complaint by Dr Swamy claiming that Mr Gandhi had, in a British Company’s Annual Returns filed on October 10,2005 and October 31,2006, declared his nationality as British.
