Good turnout of voters augur well for NDA: Nirmala

New Delhi, Apr 11 :  Into first few hours of voting in the first phase of voting to elect new Lok Sabha, the BJP on Thursday exuded confidence that the NDA nominees are doing well.
‘I think everything is going in favour of NDA, ‘ Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told reporters at the party headquarters as she also shared the Election Commission data which said voting till 1300 hrs recorded turnout of 33-44 per cent.
‘Good turnout of voters is good for Indian democracy,’ she remarked.
She, however, said though polling was peaceful in general, there are reports of violence in West Bengal.
Meanwhile, sources said there were cases of violence in Cooch Behar.
