Five killed, 3 injured in Chinese factory blast

Jinan (China), March 30 : An explosion at a perlite factory in the city of Qingzhou, located in China’s eastern Shandong province, left five people killed and three others slightly injured.
The Xinhua news agency reported, citing local authorities, that the incident occurred at 2135 hours. (GMT) on Friday.
After the blast, police detained the factory owner, according to the outlet.
The preliminary investigation has reportedly shown that the blast was caused by a liquefied gas tank leak.
Notably, earlier in March, a blast at a chemical plant in the city of Yancheng in the eastern Jiangsu province left 78 people killed and 566 others injured. The incident prompted the authorities to launch manufacturing security checks across the country.
